Job DescriptionHolliday Rock is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our fleet maintenance team. Holliday Rock has been in the constructions material business for eighty years and is one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the United States.The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs all engine and emission maintenance as well as repairs on all trucks and equipment and where necessary, can perform all drive train component work, as well as suspension and steering systems repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks.Essential Responsibilities and DutiesRemoves components for repair or replacement such as, but not limited to, injector, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, etcMaintain advanced knowledge of a vehicles engine, emission systems, transmission, hydraulic and electrical systems to perfom advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions, on site and on the roadAdvanced engine chassis repair and maintenanceAdvanced knowledge of vehicle body control system, including hydraulics and electrical systems to maintain and repair the vehicles in a timely and safe mannerKnowledge of heating and air conditioning systems to effectively diagnose and repair complex heating and cooling systems in the vehicles in a timely and safe mannerSafely operating welding tools to repair heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the equipment is back in an operable condition as quickly and safely as possibleIdentify the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic toolsEnsure fleet meets DOT regulations and safety standards, preventative maintenanceKnowledge of concrete readymix trucks, pneumatic truck and trailer, Cummins Engine and emission systems Preferred Certifications:ASE T4 BrakesASE T5 Suspension and SteeringASE T6 Electrical/ElectronicASE T8 PMIASE Certification T2 Diesel EngineASE T Master CertifiedASE T3 Drive TainASE T7 HVAC systemsQualifications and Requirements:Available to work overtime as neededAt least 2 years of prior experience as a technician working on heavy duty trucks and equipmentAdvanced knowledge in air brakes, tires as evidenced by ASE CertificationAdvanced training in hydraulics as evidenced by ASE CertificationAdvanced electrical training as evidenced by ASE CertificationAdvanced suspension, steering and wheel-end components training as evidenced by ASE CertificationAdvanced drive train knowledge as evidenced by ASE CertificationBenefits:HMO/PPO Health Insurance, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life401k Retirement PlanPaid Holidays / Paid VacationsDirect Deposit / Paid WeeklyCompany IncentivesSafety ProgramsReferral BonusChristmas PartyCompany DescriptionHolliday Rock has been in the construction material business for eighty years and is one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the United States.
