Job Description Antelope Valley Hospital is launching a major $100 million information technology overhaul, which includes implementing the Cerner Electronic Health Records system and upgrading its infrastructure, technology and dozens of IT applications. Job Objective : Under the direction of the Director of IT Operations (DITO), the Network and Computer Manager will demonstrate the ability to manage a small group of IT support personal. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform team management and deployment functions Perform annual team member reviews Be the primary coordinator of all Network and Compute resources. Ensure that the AVH network infrastructure, server environment, and endpoint environment operate in support of the AVH mission Triage server, network, endpoint, mobile, and other events and ensure that the incidents are resolved appropriately. Ability to analyze the issue to determine proper team assignment. Perform tier 2 and tier 3 incident management tasks. Provide troubleshooting recommendations and guidance. Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, service calls are placed in a timely manner and tracked. Ensure that all required support licenses are in-place and enforced Performs Service Recovery in support of Techs and Helpdesk. Assists in the Provision/Decommission hardware (Laptops, Desktops, Macs, Servers, Storage) following the documented procedure. Act as “smart” hands for SME’s providing technical direction. Utilize ticketing system(s) to document issues, communicate statuses, and resolution. Escalate issues as defined in documented escalation procedures. Provide on-call and after-hours support as required. Coordinating office and equipment moves Ensuring proper IT resources are assigned for facility events needing tech support Create schedules Provide solution guidance Acquire and present performance metrics and ensure the efficient operation of the AVH Network and Compute team. Assist the DITO with personnel review, rankings, team structure and training Investigate and resolve software and hardware problems for AVH customers as required by demand. Non-Essential Duties: Performs other duties as assigned Collect and report on service desk performance Recommend process improvements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This position requires the ability to work independently with limited direct supervision. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Possess superior telephone etiquette and the ability to deal effectively with end users, peers, and management even under extremely stressful conditions. Understand network protocols that are in use at AVH (IP suite protocols required) Possess the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret helpdesk tickets and emails. Relate in a positive professional manner with end users and coworkers. Interact well with different personalities. Make decisions and judgments based on standard procedures. Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize several projects and tasks at one time. Demonstrate the ability to determine when to escalate issues based severity level. Demonstrate PC proficiency using common software programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc. Demonstrate basic understanding of enterprise data center concepts such as Windows, networking, server administration, and the Internet. Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills techniques and responsibilities. Flexibility to work non-standard work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be reliable related to schedule and recurring tasks. Experience with networking protocols in support of an IP based network Experience with MS Windows environments is required Experience with Cisco network equipment is required Experience creating databases and maintaining database tables preferred Experience with Remedy System is preferred Experience with Wi-Fi based hardware and software is preferred Required Licensure and/or Certifications: MCSE, CCIE, CCNA preferred Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment.
