Job Description Antelope Valley Hospital is launching a major $100 million information technology overhaul, which includes implementing the Cerner Electronic Health Records system and upgrading its infrastructure, technology and dozens of IT applications. It offers a full complement of healthcare services, including Level II trauma center, labor & delivery, pediatrics, NICU, mental health and all of the medical/surgical services one would expect from a full-service acute care hospital. It is the area's only accredited Chest Pain Center and STEMI Receiving Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center and Comprehensive Community Cancer Center. Job Objective: The IT Operations Director is the senior leader over all IT operations and IT operations staff for the hospital and reports to the CIO. The Director of IT Operations is responsible for all aspects of IT daily operations, including: Server infrastructure, to include physical/virtual servers and storage systems, implementation and management of local server room uplift and implementation of cloud strategy, vendors and service level agreements Network infrastructure including data communications, LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet access, and telecommunications Security, including data, network, devices, implementation of policies and procedures and compliance reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer Messaging, including email, chat, fax and collaboration systems such as SharePoint User devices such as desktops, laptops/tablets, printers, scanners and iPhones Platform management including operating systems, database management, utilities and software tools User support including service desk, technical support, and standardized implementation of asset management, procurement, provisioning and termination procedures Coordination with Cerner Remote Hosting division for operations, performance and maintenance including local Cerner infrastructure. The IT Operations Director will also be responsible for fostering a culture of customer service and continuous improvement through measurement and reporting against KPIs and through an effective implementation of a culture of root cause analysis and aggressive remediation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A. Qualifications/Experience Technical knowledge and experience across all facets of computing infrastructure, including hybrid cloud/on-premise environments, storage area networks, server hardware and network hardware Demonstrated success delivering computing infrastructures to hospital users who require high availability, reliability and performance Experience delivering the underlying computing required to operate a major EHR implementation and associated applications Proven experience planning for the future and architecting a robust computing infrastructure Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills and the ability to secure results through others Experience managing multiple, simultaneous, significant infrastructure projects alongside robust 24x7 operations Experience meeting regulatory requirements of infrastructure implementations including HIPAA and best practices in network and application security Experience in a hospital environment. B.
